Cynosure Icon MaxG IPL Color Correction & 1540nm Fractional Laser Treatment

Icon MaxG Color Correction & 1540nm Non-Ablative Laser Skin Rejuvenation

The Palomar Icon™ aesthetic system by Cynosure is a device that combines a fractional laser and intense pulsed light (IPL)  technology to perform a variety of treatments either on their own, or in conjunction with each other. Our shop uses the Icon™ device to perform a variety of treatments—most notably the ThreeForMe™ treatment that has been proven to reduce wrinkles, sun damage, veins, and redness, and smooth tone and texture of the skin—all at the same time.

How it works

Since Icon™ includes multiple modalities (1540 fractional non-ablative laser, and MaxG™ handpieces) in a single device, the treatment sessions can efficiently address several skin care concerns at once, which reduces the need for several different types of treatments. At the same time, an Icon™ treatment can be customized or adjusted as necessary according to skin tone and each patient's desired results.

Up to 3 passes are made and there is minimal to no down time.

The ThreeForMe™ treatment can only be performed using the Icon™ system. As the name suggests, it targets three primary concerns—fine lines and wrinkles, facial veins, and signs of sun damage—to improve the overall health and appearance of your skin. Because an IPL Photofacial is involved, you may also see some other improvements in pore size, texture, and tone. The result is a brighter and fresher-looking face.

Preparing For Your Appointment

Stay out of the sun as much as possible and stop using tanning beds and sunless tanning products 2 weeks before your Icon treatment, you will burn!. *IPL is NOT for treating Melasma and only for Fitzpatrick skin types 1-3 since the wavelengths are attracted to melanin*

Colored lesions need to be diagnosed as benign by your Dr or Dermatologist before we can start your series.

Discontinue the use of any retinol-type products, as well as any other Glycolic Acids and Alphahydoxy acid-based products 1 week prior to your treatment. Check your home products for any of these ingredients.

Laser treatments are not recommended for anyone pregnant or nursing.

It's recommended that you're not currently taking medications that increase photosensitivity, off of topical prescription acne treatments for 1-2 weeks and off of Accutane for 1 year.

Wait at least 2 weeks after Botox and 1 month after fillers before having a non-ablative fractional laser treatment. Laser treatments will not affect your Botox or fillers after that time.

Stay out of the sun as much as possible and stop using tanning beds and sunless tanning products 2 weeks before your Icon treatment-there is no exception to this one, it's for your own safety otherwise you will BURN

Keep the treatment area covered and out of the sun while healing-for 1 week.

Avoid hot tubs and hot water on the treatment site for 24 hrs.

We recommend and sell DRMTLGY Tinted 46 SPF or Clear 44 SPF moisturizer and FaceTheory Gentle Cleanser w/Hylafecta 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Supergel moisturizer at night. You will have increased sun sensitivity for 1 week post-procedure, so sunscreen is the most important part of your daily skin regimen

For people with Roseacea, FaceTheory PoreBright N10 Serum every other night after one week, post treatment, under your moisturizer. Same regimen for people that need to lighten their hyper-pigmentation, use Exaglow Serum, and for anti-aging Hyaluret Serum or DRMTLGY Needle-Less "Botox in a Bottle" Serum. For acne-prone skin, start FaceTheory Clarifying cleanser 3 times a week, at night, in-between the Gentle Cleanser one week AFTER laser treatment, in conjunction with Hylafecta 2% Hyaluronic Acid Serum and Supergel moisturizer at night.

What areas can be treated?

Treatment from a MaxG IPL handpiece can improve and or remove facial veins, hyperpigmentation, pigmented lesions, brown spots, red spots, redness, scars, fine lines and wrinkles, & sun damage.

*IPL is NOT for melasma, it will darken, or Fitzpatrick levels 4-6 because the wavelengths are attracted to melanin*

Does This Treatment Hurt?

On occasion, pain and discomfort can occur, but the Icon MaxG handpiece maintains a steady cool temperature of about 41° F to enhance comfort and protect the skin from overheating. We also pre-numb before the 1540nm fractional laser.

How Long are Treatments

Treatments can take 30 mins to 1hr, depending if they're a la cart or combined.

How Many Treatments do I Need?

A minimim series of 3, 4-6 weeks apart is recommended for optimal results but every person is different and there are some circumstances that require more.

We recommend a yearly session once desired results are achieved.

Is there downtime?

You can expect to feel slightly sunburned, some swelling and have redness for 24-48 hours after the treatment.

The brown spots will darken then fall off.
